How to contribute (DSB Institutes only)

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Whatever content is reachable from the Web is considered as a true PUBLICATION, so please don't send content showing reserved/confidential/private/classified data and/or awaiting for evaluation/approval and/or publication (online or not). If in doubt, please contact us before send.

We accept contributions from DSB Institutes ONLY.
In any case, publication is subject to the approval of the DSB.

Abstracts

Send any abstract following the template (Word) that you can download below. Maximum allowed length is two pages.
Your institution, authors and keywords (at least three) are mandatory fields.

Presentations

You can send the original presentation file, but is advisable to send only the diapos images (follow the guides below). Compress the resulting folder in a .zip file then email it.
Please don't send PDF: it must in any case be converted in images before publication on the Web.
If, due to its big size, it's no possible to email the zipped folder, please use a service like FileSender GARR or WeTransfer.
The FileSender GARR Service is available - free of charge - for all the members of Federazione IDEM (more info at FileSender: il nuovo servizio GARR per l'invio di file "fuori misura", amongst which there is the CNR, many Universities and many Italian research institutions (full list at IDEM GARR AAI - Partecipanti.

Export on Mac (example is Office for Mac 2016, other versions are similar)

(1/5) Click on File on the upper left menu bar and select Esporta.

(2/5) Default export format option is PDF: select JPEG, instead.

(3/5) After selecting JPEG format choose Salva ogni diapositiva. Then click on Esporta

(4/5) Final message.

(5/5) Final result: see the folder containing your slides.

Export on Windows (example is Office for Windows 2019, other versions are similar)

(1/7) Click on File on the upper left menu bar.

(2/7) On the left side of the application window select Esporta then click on Cambia tipo di file (default option is Adobe PDF).

(3/7) On the dropdown menu which appeared on the right side, select File JPEG, then click on Salva con nome.

(4/7) Choose a name then click on Salva.

(5/7) Choose the first option: Tutte le diapositive.

(6/7) Final message.

(7/7) Final result: see the folder containing your slides.

Tip to create new presentations

If you start a new presentation (video projection or web publishing) choose these formats for a better vision on latest devices: 1280 width × 720 height or 1440 width × 900 height (16:9 or 16:10 resolution respectively).
They are commonly called widescreen format (opposite to standard 4:3 resolution format: 960 width × 720 height or 1024 width × 768 height).
Both versions of PowerPoint allow you to do so (in the program window on the upper menu bar go to Progettazione then select the second-last menu item: Dimensioni diapositiva).

Videos

Obviously a video file cannot be sent via email, so, as we suggested above for presentations, please use a service like FileSender GARR or WeTransfer.

Before publishing a video on the Web it's mandatory (GDPR regulations) that any single speaker send us the "Disclaimer and consent to the publication and transmission of images": in other words any single speaker must explicitly authorize the transmission and publication and/or diffusion in any form of audio, video or photographic material in which people appears represented or is otherwise recognizable.
