Dettagli: Dear Colleague,
we are pleased to announce the FEBS Workshop entitled "Decoding non-coding RNAs in development and cancer", which will be held in Capri, from 12 to 15 October 2014.For further information please visit the website: workshop.igb.cnr.it
This Meeting will gather leading scientists from different fields ranging from organismal-level developmental to cancer biology.
Recent insights into RNA biology induced a paradigm shift towards the recognition of RNAs as functionally molecules, beyond serving as messengers for protein-encoding genes. Cells contain different classes of non-coding RNAs , however the functional importance in biological processes for many of these classes remains largely unknown. This meeting will focus on the basic questions of “who, when, what, where, and how” these non-coding RNAs exert important regulatory functions in the control of transcriptional programs in cancer and development. The new exciting therapeutic perspectives offered by non-coding RNAs will be also discussed.
In addition to invited speakers' talks, eight to ten short oral presentations will be selected from the applicants' abstracts. All participants will be invited to present their work in two Poster sessions. To maximize the interactions between speakers and participants, we have also planned two ‘Meet the Experts’ evening sessions, which will involve all the invited speakers and scientific organizers.
Importantly, 10 FEBS Youth Travel Funds (YTF) will be available to young participants to cover travel and registration/lodging expenses.
EPIGEN Travel Grants will be reserved to young scientists (PhD students and Post-docs) from EPIGEN (Epigenomics Flagship Project) italian laboratories covering travel expenses and the all-inclusive registration fee.
Deadline for YTF and EPIGEN Grants: June 15th, 2014
Please, find attached to this mail the Workshop advertisement that you may forward to colleagues and young fellows.
